Emma's Diary

My friend Emma has been asking me to post excerpts from her journal. "Just start your own blog," I said.
"No I don't want to be judged."

I've put a lot of thought into this and I'm
going to post Emma's entries.

Enjoy

Women's history facts

A friend of mine is dedicated to informing people on Black History Facts. I thought why not give Women's History Facts? My blog predominantly focuses on women's issues the good and the bad.

History fact of the day:
On this day June 22nd  1918 @ the 32nd US Womens Tennis: Molla Bjurstedt  Mallory beats E E Goss (64 63)

Emma N.1

As I work on "Emma's Tales" I begin to wonder how many girls and women have walked in Emma's shoes. Her experiences are riveting and continue to shake my core.

As I write her story I see myself, my sisters, my mothers, my grandmothers, my aunts and friends in her. Emma depicts the suffrage of women.

Her voice crackles as she tells me her story. How do you put a crackling voice on paper?

Emma, Emma,Emma... She makes my heart bleed.

Taking Criticism part1

I woke up this morning reflecting on some of the comments on my article.

While welcoming all comments the good and the bad...I realized some of our people don't take criticism well. Our culture is great but like anything else it has its flaws. I speak for women whom I met while I was in Zimbabwe. Women who are jaded by negative aspects of their culture. No culture or nation is perfect. We should be more open to criticism and exercise self criticism. That's the only way we can evolve into a better nation. We women simply need a VOICE!
